Enrichment Opportunities for Everyone!

From infants to big kids – and their adults, too! – Shalom Orlando has enrichment programs to engage them all. There are options to fit a variety of schedules, interests, and age ranges, and JCC members or Shayna's Village members can save on every one! Shayna's Village Classes for Infants and Toddlers

These “Adult and Me” classes give the littlest learners a chance to spend quality time with their grown-ups while focusing on motor-skills, verbal development, and FUN!

Stay and Play

Mondays, 9:30-10:15 a.m.

Join your lil' Shalom Orlando friends in Shayna's Village for an open play date! Parents or caregivers will blossom friendships as well during this fun time. Adult must stay with child.

Sign, Sing, and Schmooze

Thursdays, 9:30-10:15 a.m.

Lay the foundation for your baby's future communication by growing vocabulary and pre-language skills. Learn to incorporate baby sign language into your daily routine as we explore music, books, meals, playtime, and more! Open to non-verbal infants.

Mommy and Me Yoga

Wednesdays, 9:30-10:15 a.m.

Yoga and mindfulness are terrific for humans of all ages. For our youngest children, they are priceless! You and your child will learn strategies for self-regulation and happiness, including yoga poses, meditation and deep breathing, all with a Jewish twist. Open to caregivers and their children 0-5 years of age.

Free Family Fridays

Fridays, 10:30-11:45 a.m.

A time each week for you to spend with your little ones, enjoying the Village activities including Stories and Snuggles, Snack Date, and Musical Shabbat.

FREE with Annual Village Pass or JCC membership. Visitors may attend once as a guest.

Afternoon Enrichment

Swimming, chess, music, sports, and more – these engaging classes have something for every youngster who is eager to learn and explore.

Yoga

Mondays, 1:00-1:45, 2:00-2:45, 3:00-3:45, and 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Give your child the tools they need to live a healthy, happy life with mindful yoga. Every class includes movement sequences woven together with classroom themes like gratitude and integrity, along with breathing and yoga exercises that all children can enjoy.

Physical Education

Tuesdays, 1:00-1:45 p.m.

This class explores movement, learning through play, and building the joy of being active – all without perfection or pressure (ages 3-5 years old).

Cheer and Tumble

Wednesdays, 4:00-5:00 p.m.

This high-energy class combines the spirit of cheerleading with the fundamentals of tumbling in a fun and supportive setting. Kids will learn basic cheer chants, motions, jumps, and beginner tumbling skills like rolls, handstands, and cartwheels, all while building strength, coordination and team spirit.

Lego Builders

Fridays, 1:00-1:45 and 2:00-2:45 p.m.

Get ready to stack, snap, and imagine! In this hands-on class designed just for preschoolers, young builders will explore the world of LEGO through creative play and guided building activities. Each session encourages problem-solving, fine motor skill development, and teamwork.

Advanced Karate – Yellow and Above

Fridays, 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Through Japanese karate classes, your child will gain balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Over time, you will see a new sense of confidence, self-discipline, and focus emerging in your child. Children are encouraged to try their best to meet the challenges they may face in this class. Classes are taught by 6th degree black belt Shihan Gil Alstein.

Tumbling

Wednesdays, 2:00-2:45 p.m.

Tumbling develops strength, balance, and body control through skills like rolls, cartwheels, and backbends. Our enrichment classes focus on safe progressions tailored to each child’s level. All athletes gain confidence and technique in a structured setting while having fun.

Soccer

Beginner soccer players will get an introduction to the fundamentals of soccer, build social skills, and improve self-confidence under the instruction of a trained UpField Soccer teacher.

Music Makers – Guitar

Calling all future rock stars! This class will focus on introducing the guitar, simple counting, making sounds, and performing in a fun and engaging way.

Story Stretchers/Edible Science

Wednesdays, 1:15-2:45 p.m.

The first 6 weeks of class, the children will be introduced to a different book each week and will expand on the story with creative activities that enhance literature. Then, 6 more weeks with an Edible Science theme. K-3 & K-4

Beginner Karate K4

Wednesdays, 2:00-2:45 and 3:00-3:45 p.m.

Through Japanese karate classes, your child will gain balance, coordination, flexibility and strength. Cheerleading

Wednesdays, 1:00-1:45 and 3:00-3:45 p.m.

Cheerleading combines stunting, tumbling, jumps, and dance to build strength, confidence, and teamwork. Our enrichment classes teach fundamental skills in a fun, supportive environment. Athletes will improve coordination, flexibility, and performance while learning the basics of cheer.

Simcha Snackers

Mondays, 1:00-1:45, 2:00-2:45, and 3:00-3:45 p.m.

Ignite your child’s passion for cooking and their connection to Jewish culture with our immersive, hand-on kids cooking class. Your young chefs will gain practical skills such as measuring, proper use of kitchen utensils, and critical safety practices, that will serve them for a lifetime.

Chesslandia

Introduce young minds to the world of chess in a fun, interactive, and age-appropriate way! This class focuses on critical thinking, problem-solving and concentration skills through playful activities and engaging instruction.

Music Makers – Instrument Exploration

Fridays, 2:00-2:45 p.m.

This open-ended curriculum is designed to explore the history, functions and group dynamics of various instruments. We will focus on hands-on activities, creativity, and group collaboration while introducing students to keyboards, electric guitars, bass, bells, percussion, and other group- oriented instruments. 

Basketball

Thursdays, 1:00-1:45, 2:00-2:45, 3:00-3:45, and 4:00-5:00 p.m.

3-5 years old basketball enrichment to learn the FUNdamentals with basketball where players are certain to improve their game. Players will learn the basketball basics and focus on developing their skills of dribbling, passing, defense, and much more. This will be a fun class for those who are new to the game and those looking to take their game to the next level.

Beginner Karate K3

Keyboard Capers

Tuesdays, 1:00-1:45, 2:00-2:45, and 4:00-5:00 p.m.

In this class, the children will learn beginning keyboard skills in a fun and engaging way. Children will practice key locations, finger placement, and simple typing tasks like their name. Lessons often include colorful visuals and interactive games to build motor skills and familiarity through play. All keyboards will be provided.

Junior Tennis Development

Revolution Academy Junior Tennis Program is designed to give children the chance to develop the proper technique, movement, and hand-eye coordination so they can foster a love for the sport of tennis.

Rockstar Academy Guitar Lessons

Learn guitar in the Village from guitar instructor extraordinaire, TJ Woods. Open to kindergartners through adults.

Dungeons & Dragons

Mondays, 4:00-5:30 p.m.

Unleash your inner wizard or knight as we seek out Dungeons & Dragons Adventures in this exciting new club.

Group Swim

Tuesdays, 2:00-2:45, 3:00-3:45, and 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Fridays, 1:00-1:45, 2:00-2:45, 3:00-3:45, and 4:00-5:00 p.m.

These small group swim lessons are great for children (ages 3-5) who already have a foundation in swimming and want to gain confidence and a more advanced skillset in the water. These group lessons are structured the same as private lessons, with the children benefiting from observing and learning alongside their peers. Games and free swim time are incorporated into each lesson.

Disc Golf

Thursdays, 3:00-3:45 and 4:00-4:45 p.m.

Preschooler disc golf is a playful, simplified version of traditional disc golf designed specifically for young children ages 3-5. This fun class will introduce basic throwing skills and movement to increase gross motor development, coordination, and spatial awareness.

Art

Fridays, 1:00-1:45 and 3:00-3:45 p.m.

A class that explores both process and product art through multiple mediums. Projects include painting and air-dry sculptures, texture rubbing, painting and mixed media.

Flag Football

Fridays, 1:00-1:45, 2:00-2:45, 3:00-3:45, and 4:00-5:00 p.m.

This beginner-friendly flag football class introduces preschoolers to the fun of the game in a safe, non-contact way. Through exciting games and imaginative drills, little athletes will learn the basics of running, catching, passing and teamwork. all while developing coordination and confidence.

Advanced Karate

Fridays, 2:00-2:45 p.m.

Through Japanese karate classes, your child will gain balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Over time, you will see a new sense of confidence, self-discipline, and focus emerging in your child. Children are encouraged to try their best to meet the challenges they may face in this class. Classes are taught by 6th degree black belt Shihan Gil Alstein. Prerequisite: 1 year of beginner karate.

Aftercare for Elementary School Students

Aftercare – Transition care to Enrichment

Monday-Fridays, 3:15-4:00 p.m.

If your child is enrolled in a 4:00 enrichment class, they also need to be enrolled in transitional after care, which starts at 3:15. They will be provided with a snack and escorted to their enrichment class. Free pickup is available from Gotlib Jewish Academy. Students will be supervised until pick up at 5:30.

Aftercare – Fridays only from Gotlib Jewish Academy

Fridays, 3:15-5:30 p.m.

We will pick up your child from Gotlib Jewish Academy on Fridays, bring them to Shalom Orlando where we will provide a snack, and keep them until pick up at 5:30.
