Enrichment Opportunities for Everyone!

From infants to big kids – and their adults, too! – Shalom Orlando has enrichment programs to engage them all. There are options to fit a variety of schedules, interests, and age ranges, and JCC members or Shayna's Village members can save on every one! Shayna's Village Classes for Infants and Toddlers

These “Adult and Me” classes give the littlest learners a chance to spend quality time with their grown-ups while focusing on motor-skills, verbal development, and FUN!

TummyTime!™

Mondays, 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.

(non-mobile infants)

This trademarked class will teach you fun activities like infant massage, baby yoga, and additional techniques to do with your babies so they get all the benefits of tummy time.

Baby & Me Swim Class

Tuesdays, 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.

This 8-week parent-and-child swim program is for children who are new to the water. Children will gain familiarity with the pool and basic water activities.

Go Baby!

Wednesdays, 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.

(mobile babies-young toddlers)

The children will develop fine and gross motor skills, body awareness, strength and flexibility, while having fun through creative music and fitness activities. For mobile babies – young toddlers.

Sign, Sing, and Schmooze

Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.

(pre-verbal infants)

Lay the foundation for your baby's future communication by growing vocabulary and pre-language skills. Learn to incorporate baby sign language into every day life.

Mommy and Me Yoga

Thursdays, 10:30 - 11:15 a.m.

Yoga and mindfulness are terrific for humans of all ages. For our youngest children, they are priceless! You and your child will learn strategies for self-regulation and happiness, including yoga poses, meditation, and deep breathing, all with a Jewish twist.

Free Family Fridays

Fridays, 10:30 - 11:45 a.m.

A time each week for you to spend with your little ones, enjoying the Village activities including Stories and Snuggles, Snack Date, and Musical Shabbat.

FREE with Annual Village Pass or JCC membership. Visitors may attend once as a guest.

Afternoon Enrichment for Children 2 to 5 Years Old

Swimming, chess, music, sports, and more – these engaging classes have something for every youngster who is eager to learn and explore.

Group Swim

These group lessons are structured the same as private lessons, with the children benefiting from observing and learning alongside their peers. Group swim lessons are capped at 4 per class.

Yoga

Mondays, 2:00 - 2:45 p.m.

Give your child the tools they need to live a healthy, happy life with mindful yoga. Every class includes movement sequences woven together with classroom themes like gratitude and integrity, along with breathing and yoga exercises that all children can enjoy.

Advanced Karate

Wednesdays, 3:00 - 3:45 p.m.

Fridays, 2:00 - 2:45 p.m.

Through Seido karate classes, your child will gain balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Classes are taught by 6th degree black belt Shihan Gil Alstein. Children in this Advanced class must have taken at least 1 other semester with Shihan Gil.

Tumbling

Wednesdays, 1:00 - 1:45, 2:00 - 2:45, or 3:00 - 3:45 p.m.

Tumbling develops strength, balance, and body control through skills like rolls, cartwheels, and backbends. Our enrichment classes focus on safe progressions tailored to each child’s level. All athletes gain confidence and technique in a structured setting while having fun.

Photography

Mondays, 1:15 - 2:45 p.m.

A class dedicated to exploring creativity through photography. Subjects include portraits, light and shadow, color and texture, and nature scenes.

Soccer

Beginner soccer players will get an introduction to the fundamentals of soccer, build social skills, and improve self-confidence under the instruction of a trained UpField Soccer teacher.

Music Makers – Guitar

Thursdays, 2:00 - 2:45 p.m.

Calling all future rock stars! This class will focus on introducing the guitar, simple counting, making sounds, and performing in a fun and engaging way.

Cheerleading

Tuesdays, 1:00 - 1:45, 2:00 - 2:45, or 3:00 - 3:45 p.m.

Cheerleading combines stunting, tumbling, jumps, and dance to build strength, confidence, and teamwork. Our enrichment classes teach fundamental skills in a fun, supportive environment. Athletes will improve coordination, flexibility, and performance while learning the basics of cheer.

Simcha Snackers

Mondays, 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. or 2:00 - 2:45 p.m.

Ignite your child’s passion for cooking and their connection to Jewish culture with our immersive, hand-on kids cooking class. Your young chefs will gain practical skills such as measuring, proper use of kitchen utensils, and critical safety practices, that will serve them for a lifetime.

Chesslandia

Introduce young minds to the world of chess in a fun, interactive, and age-appropriate way! This class focuses on critical thinking, problem-solving and concentration skills through playful activities and engaging instruction.

Music Makers – Instrument Exploration

Fridays, 2:00 - 2:45 p.m.

This open-ended curriculum is designed to explore the history, functions and group dynamics of various instruments. We will focus on hands-on activities, creativity, and group collaboration while introducing students to keyboards, electric guitars, bass, bells, percussion, and other group- oriented instruments. 

Children Around the World

Wednesdays, 1:15 - 2:45 p.m.

No matter where children live around the world some things are universal…they like to eat, play and sing! In the Children Around the World class the children will begin to learn about and experience food, music, and games from different countries all around the world in a playful way. During our first class the children will make their own passport which will be stamped each week when we ?travel? to a new country. We will taste new foods, sing new songs, and play games as well as learn where animals come from and listen to folktales and learn how alike we all are no matter where we live. Come travel with us!

Junior Tennis Development

Revolution Academy Junior Tennis Program is designed to give children the chance to develop the proper technique, movement, and hand-eye coordination so they can foster a love for the sport of tennis.

Rockstar Academy Guitar Lessons

Field Day

Field day is an introduction to sports class that takes children outdoors for forty-five minutes of sport fun. From kickball to golf, students will learn to exercise their bodies and learn teamwork with their peers.

Art

A class that explores both process and product art through multiple mediums. Projects include painting and air-dry sculptures, texture rubbing, painting and mixed media.

After-School Classes for Kids Age 5 to 14

Whether your kids attend school on or near the JCC campus or anywhere in Central Florida, these engaging classes are the perfect way to end the day.

Join the D&D Adventure with Yotam

A collection of vintage tabletop role-playing game books, dice, and adventure maps.

Tuesdays, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Unleash your inner wizard or Knight as we seek out Dungeons & Dragons Adventures in this exciting new club.

Advanced Karate Yellow and Above

Through Seido karate classes, your child will gain balance, coordination, flexibility and strength. Children are encouraged to try their best to meet the challenges they may face in this class. Classes are taught by 6th degree black belt Shihan Gil Alstein. This class is for children with a yellow belt and up.

Rockstar Academy Private Guitar
