Fragility of Democracy Workshop, Session 3: Culture Under Fire: Art, Identity, and the Fight to Be Seen

  • Holocaust Center of Florida 851 North Maitland Avenue Maitland, FL, 32751 United States (map)

Before censorship, there was creativity. Before the Nazi regime silenced artists and banned “degenerate” art, the Weimar era was alive with creativity, diversity, and bold new ideas. This session celebrates the voices that refused to conform: painters, poets, and performers who used art to define freedom. As their work was destroyed, a nation’s moral compass dimmed.
